When two SEP polymers are mixed with the base oil, the styrene and rubber chains in the SEP polymers are connected to each other at the end and cannot form a cross molecular network, providing thixotrope properties (shear thinning) of the paste. The fiber optic fiber paste is kept viscous by the undisturbed entanglement of two SEP polymers. When subjected to external force, the linear polymers of two blocks either flow in orientation or form a granular lubricant, so that the gel becomes a sol state. Compared with inorganic gelling agents, polymer gelling agents have better miscibility with base oil, and their properties are more stable at higher miscibility temperatures.
